
I don't think the thing was a bust and I never imagined it would continue forever. I'm one of those people that still buys CDs and LIKE buying them. I like the cover art, the lyric sheets and hardware in hand. I certainly haven't been one of the biggest Radiohead fans but I certainly checked out the album through downloading it on their site. Another band that did something similar to this before Radiohead was the Robbie Seay band, and I got their album Give it Away for free.
I will admit, since these CDs cost me nothing to very little, they haven't received as much play nor have I valued them as much. Ultimately, if I don't have a CD to put in the car, I don't listen to it much (and I haven't desired to burn a CD of either yet).
Man I would love to see those figures, because I bet they're small. I'd imagine most people didn't pay anything for it. I applaude them for trying something daring, but it was probably doomed to failure.
